Wez - I doubled checked them last night. I finally got the ports open by configuring 5900 as a virtual server port on the router and then de-configuring it. That may be what the problem is now. Again, what I feel most disturbing is the fact the link worked for nearly 2 months flawlessly - then just stopped. I have double checked the ports - I am using 5900 and 5800 for Java. I've lost the internal network connection, now I get an immediate error that the "connection was unexpectedly dropped."

Are you sure that you haven't configured VNC Server to serve the Java Viewer on port 5900 and to serve VNC connections on a different port, by mistake?
