Connection refused

I can run the VNC service in user mode over my network in my house but when I am in service mode it will not connect. I have the same equipment at my house that I do in my office and I cannot get the service to work at my home. If anyone can give me some pointers and maybe help me with some settings I would really appreciate it. Every thing seems like my settings are the same at my house like they are in my office but I am really puzzeled why I cannot connect to my home PC.
