I am trying to use Real VNC with Hamachi so I can access my desktop PC from my
laptop when I am out of town. I have installed Hamachi on both PC's, and they
appear to be able to locate (for lack of the proper term) each other OK. I
installed the free version of Real VNC Server on my desktop, and I installed
the Real VNC viewer on my laptop. Each PC (desktop & laptop) now have their
own IP address generated through Hamachi. When I run the RealVNC viewer on my
laptop, I enter the Desktop's Hamachi generated IP address. RealVNC times out
and gives me an error message of:

"Unable to connect to shot: Connection timed out (10060).

Based on the instructions on both Hamachi and RealVNC, it appears that I am
doing things correctly, but obviously, I am not.

I have several questions.

What am I doing wrong?

Is there an easier way to accomplish my goal than what I am trying?

Is it possible to do what I want by just using RealVNC without using Hamachi?

I have allowed internet access to Hamachi and RealVNC through my firewall. Is
that correct, or have I created possible security problems?

I appreciate any and all help.

Thanks in advance!
Rick
