James,

I now know that the standard RealVNC package does not contain the "via"
option. However, I just learned that the Gentoo build of RealVNC 4.x
applies a patch, called "vnc-via.patch" that installs the functionality.
So, I really am running RealVNC, albeight a non-standard version. It is a
very nice option, and I would suggest that it be put into the standard
RealVNC package!

Thanks for helping me clear this up!
