Hi,
I am new to this. I have set up VNC to use between 2 machines here at home and this is working. I would like to be able to use it to connect from my laptop at work to my desktop at home. I have been figuring it all out, and I think I am close. I set up my desktop with a static 192.x.x.x address and can still get to web pages, etc. We have satellite from hughesnet (used to be direcway). I have made an account with dyndns.org for dynamic dns so that I can (I think) still check my ip address which is directed to my free dns name. I set up port forwarding on a WRK54G router. I checked the instructions on portforwarding.com and it seems to make sense. I am testing the connection through the page www.gotomyvnc.com <http://www.gotomyvnc.com/> The error messages I get are as follows: Checking you out at IP address "69.19.14.16"... 69.19.14.16 is not responding on Display 0. 69.19.14.16 is not responding on Display 1. 69.19.14.16 is not responding on Display 2. 69.19.14.16 is not responding on Display 3. 69.19.14.16 is not responding on Display 4. 69.19.14.16 is not responding on Display 5. 69.19.14.16 is not responding on Display 6. 69.19.14.16 is not responding on Display 7. 69.19.14.16 is not responding on Display 8. 69.19.14.16 is not responding on Display 9. Scan of "69.19.14.16" is complete. Hit 'reload' or 'refresh' in your browser to scan again. I know that hughesnet/direcway use NAT. Is there any hope? I have seen some satellite discussion but nothing that seems to help me out. I'm appreciative of any advice!!
