I use a product called screen hunter (free version) from wisdom soft (http://www.wisdom-soft.com/). it's free, and has really useful features like saving to files in addition to clipboard, and timed capture, which lets me hide my on-screen keyboard before the screen shot is taken (I have no use of my arms, and use my eyes and on=screen keyboard to type). I've never had any trouble with it.
