I'm trying to connect via vncviewer 4.1.2 to a Mac running OS X 10.4, which has Apple Remote Desktop/VNC Server enabled and a password set. I have not been successful and I have scoured the mailing list for a solution without success.
When I run vncviewer in Linux terminal, it prompts me for the password, but after I enter it, the window with the desktop of the VNC server never appears. When I run vncviewer from the X Windows, after entering the password, a window appears to flash and disappear. I have also installed the RealVNC Viewer on Windows XP, and get the same thing. Here is the log output when running vncviewer -log *:stdout:100 ip_address from the Linux terminal: --------------------------------------------------------------------- VNC Viewer Free Edition 4.1.2 for X - built May 12 2006 17:42:13 Copyright (C) 2002-2005 RealVNC Ltd. After the password, a window opens and closes instantaneously, but that is it. Are there any tricks/switches required for connecting to Mac OS X ? Thanks for any help.
