I just installed the latest version on my laptop (Windows Vista) and on my
desktop (Linux).
The server is running on the laptop - I see WInVNC4 running as a service.
I run vncviewer on the desktop, and try to connect.
Here is what happens -

$ vncviewer 192.168.2.3

 CConnection: Server supports RFB protocol version 3.8
 CConnection: Using RFB protocol version 3.8
Aborted

(before the last line appears I enter the password as set in the server into
the popup box)

I then ran the vncserver on my desktop and tried to connect to it from the
same machine.
This is all I get -

$ vncviewer localhost
