BSOD = Black Screen of Death. First noted in Win3.1. I encountered it
frequently in the early days of Win3.x, when the Novell Netware client was
loaded on the machine. In this case, when existing Win3.x, you would get a
black screen with a flashing cursor in the upper left corner and the machine
would be hung, forcing a hard reset or power cycle to regain control of the
computer.
Rebooting is not a BSOD.
