Which, I think is the bigger problem overall. The S/S and RMDB requirements are annoying, but in terms of difficulty, expense, and competitiveness issues,  it just doesn't compare to basically everything having to route through sinch and peerless. I really feel like were going back to the "bad old days" when ATT was still the only shop in town. It seems like every year, there are fewer companies still in the TDM translation and IPES backed market, and those that are left are increasingly hard to work with. Meanwhile, the direct interconnection/TDM path is getting more expensive, and the tech stack needed to service it gets further out of date every year.

As for protecting yourself against those kinds of hijacking attacks, the best thing that I could recommend is ensuring that you're email server is properly set up with SPF, DKIM, and DMRAC so it can't be easily spoofed.

I was just about to say: there's a small oligopoly of CLECs who supply the

I believe the concern about listing a company's upstream carriers is
overstated. There simply aren’t as many carriers as there used to be, and
businesses have consolidated who they terminate calls to due to S/S. This
simply isn’t a commonly exploited attack vector. Even if someone tried, it
would be noticed and addressed within a few hours. We work with a core set of
about 10 carriers that legitimate providers and our competitors and other
players in the market typically use, and this information isn’t top secret. I
understand you've seen this happen, but of all the risks we face as providers,
I'd rank this one at the bottom of the list.

I am so sorry....I just realized that I said to file the 499 confidentially.
Its not the 499. Its your Robocall Mitigation Plan that you need to file
confidentially because they ARE asking for upstream carriers and additional
contact information. That requirement was added this year.
