Some Sensible Words about the Larry Summers flap:

The Economist this week has some [1]sensible words about the Larry
Summers "women in science" brouhaha. As they put it: "What is
happening at Harvard would be funny if it were not so outrageous."
Precisely. The reaction to Summers' [2]speech has exposed the
appalling hold that political correctness has on substantial elements
of the Harvard faculty. Imagine -- the Harvard President has the nerve
to hold controversial ideas at odds with current orthodoxy! And the
temerity to actually speak about those ideas!! What does he think a
University is, anyway? If the faculty go through with their threats to
"censure" Summers with a "no confidence" vote, it will be a black day
   for that institution.
