Taxation without Representation: The Policy of the DC Government:

This afternoon the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee is [1]holding a
hearing on granting the District of Columbia voting rights in the U.S.
House of Representatives; the hearing will be webcast. As usual,
D.C.'s campaign is using the slogan "Ending Taxation without
Representation." As Paul Blackman and I detailed in a [2]2003 article
in National Review Online, "taxation without representation" is in
fact a cherished objective of the extremely incompetent D.C.
government, as the D.C. government seeks to impose a commuter tax on
residents of Maryland and Virginia, and engages in various other
schemes to take money from people who cannot vote in D.C.
