Sunday Song Lyric:

Apparently I haven't posted enough Gershwin lyrics, even though Ira's
lyrics (and George's music) are among the few to have appeared more
than once. Of course, they're responsible for more than a few
classics. Here's one: Someone to Watch Over Me. Originally from the
musical Oh, Kay!, the song has been performed by everyone from [1]Ella
Fitzgerald and [2]Frank Sinatra to [3]Linda Ronstadt and [4]Amy
Winehouse. The lyrics begin:
There's a saying old says that love is blind
Still we're often told "seek and ye shall find"
So I'm going to seek a certain man I've had in mind
Looking everywhere, haven't found him yet
He's the big affair I cannot forget
Only man I ever think of will regret
I'd like to add his initials to my monogram
Tell me where's the shepherd for this lost lamb
There's a somebody I'm longing to see
I hope that he turns out to be
Someone to watch over me
