Thats the question. It depends on the quality of the cells where the AC calibration info is stored.
I'm not aware of a checksum function on these EAROM's.

If it is the AC part, I've some spare parts if necessary... Just let me know.

correct,  it is just the AC ranges that are a problem.  If the EAROMs were bad, 
you'd lose all the calibration constants.
