Hello, I have asked a general ISP list if they have any trouble with e-mails being stuck. most probably would not be using vop-mail The responses indicated that Outlook express is involved with most problem/stuck e-mails Solutions, use Eudora to retrieve e-mail Have a webmail interface so users can remove offending mail. One ISP changed from sendmail to qmail which got rid of those problems. So the problem is wide spread and not just an issue with vop-mail One techie also told me that (in ref to cheapy HSP type modems) "Also If a user is having mail problems grep their mail file for +++ sometimes as the modem is receiving the data stream the stoopid thing decideds its a good idea to go into command mode and does drop SMTP & POP connections." ------ personally I never have a problem retrieving e-mail using outlook express on an NT machine or 98 on a LAN. I don't have any trouble downloading a customers e-mail that has been stuck. some of the problems my customers encounter:- If their computer has an error or they interrupt the mail download, they will be locked from access for a time, till there previous pop connection on the mail server times out. (I understand this, thus don't have a problem with this) Large messages sometimes cause a problem A large number of messages can cause a problem. Spam messages, Bounces to Spam postmaster messages saying that a message could not be delivered.
