I believe there's a registry entry you can fix that will let you reduce the
default time to a reasonable level if the query takes too long when
consulting the blocklist.

Using regedt32 ...

\\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\SMTPRS\Parameters

Click Edit/Add Value with the Value Name of: AsyncDnsTimeout1

Set the type to REG_DWORD

Change to Decimal value and put in 20 (for 20 seconds) or whatever timeout
value you feel comfortable with.
