That is exactly what we saw. If the client with Norton tries to download that munged message it would fail. I am the one that discovered the cause of this. you can recreate it by taking any good .msg file and insert a period on a single line in the header and Norton equipped systems will hang. Turn off Norton and you can receive it. Vircom put a fix in modus to catch and fix or remove these nasty messages. Note the rouge period in the headers always seemed to be in the line that listed many many recipients. Are you running the newest version of Vop? and you will have to ask Vircom if that fix was applied to Vop as it was with Modus but I would assume it was since it affected both versions. I had a customer who couldn't get an email. Check the msg file and it has a bad header, it has only part of a header, and a ending . on a line by itself in the middle of the header. Removed this message from their inbox and they can get mail fine. I put the same message in my inbox and checked it. My client received all my emails fine, didn't stop on the bad message, but never even showed the bad message. All messages were removed from my inbox directory, so I know it got it. I'm using Outlook 2002. I guess my point is it also has a lot to do with the client. I'd like to do more testing with different clients, and I don't know what client the original customer had.
