The way Vopmail delivers mail is causing a problem, when delivering mail to a big ISP that apparently does not follow RFCs correctly. Read on. I have noticed a big queue of 1,000 undelivered messages in \vopmail\spool\domains\ig.com.br IG is a very big free ISP in Brazil. I telnetted their mail server and noticed that they DROP the SMTP connection as soon as you type a nonexistant user (using command rcpt to: ). (I think this doesn't follow the RFC). What happens is that if someone tries to send a message to a wrong or inactive account, from that point on Vopmail cannot deliver ANY other mail to this ISP. Soon large queues form up. Those queues never resolve by themselves. I need to intervene. I believe this happens because Vopmail tries to send all pending messages to a domain in a SINGLE session. If the connection of the first message is dropped, Vopmail does not try to send the other messages. Any recommendation for this kind of problem ????
