no resolution from Vircom - there is something in the OE/Norton/Vircom
combination that causes the problem. Remove any one of the components, and
everything works.

It is always a mal-formed SPAM message that causes the problem. I have the
clients that experience the problem go to web mail and delete the SPAM
message(s) from there. Once they do that , all is OK.

Only thing I know is that it only happens on Vircom servers, I have never
seen the problem on other mail servers we have and the clients use OE/Norton
that have accounts on the other servers.

Subject: [VOPmail Beta] Norton AV issues

I know this was a long time ago, but did anyone ever come to a resolution on
the Norton AV causing OE disconnects issue? I've got the archives from that
time, but I did not find anything conclusive.

I seems like over the past week I've gotten a lot of complaints of OE
disconnecting and all the users who have this problem have Norton AV
installed.

Thanks,
David Ruggles
