okay, I did the registry hack to add the 20 second timeout and added 15 entries from your list.  I started with the relays and proxies and the foreign blackholes.  I left out the dialups because I don't think I want to block all dialups as I am a dialup seller.  I left out spamhaus for day one just to see what happens.

do I need to change any of the cache parameters? by default they are 10 and 5.  I don't see them documented. should I increase the cache to be larger than the number of entries in my rbl list?

Well - I think in general Spamhaus has been very thorough in documenting their blocks (check out their ROKSO list) and I don't believe they engage in the same IP escalation process that SPEWs does.

As in anything, YMMV.

Yves,

I'm going to break down, get over my fear, and start using RBL's.  To start with I think I'll use your foreign lists and the relay lists.  I'm curious why

        sbl.spamhaus.org (blocks known spammers)

get's listed in the regular list while

        relays.osirusoft.com  (SPEWS)
        bl.spamcop.net (SPAMCOP)

are marked as extreme.

I take it there are less problems with false positives with spamhaus?
