We have a situation where users are accessing our server from cable company based high speed Internet access. Recently the cable companies decided to block port 25, requiring the users to change their mail client SMTP reference from ours to that of the cable company.
Regular outgoing mail from these users works fine; however, any return receipts requested by the senders of mail to them are failing with a 550 error.
Has anyone else experienced this?
We thought of trying to restore their access to our SMTP server by creating an instance that was not on port 25. Has anyone done this before, and would they be willing to share their method.
Many Thanks
