Abd,
My interest was piqued because I suspect It might be my own theories
being fed back to the vort.. the bit about milling the powder in
inert gas and then submerging the finished reactor immediately in a
heat sink directly from the glove box sounded awful familiar :_)
hopefully some troll isn't trying to feed me my own tail but that is
one suspicion that occurred to me.. anyway, nothing came up on
google and think whoever labeled this an urban legend was probably
closest to the mark.. sorry my long winded theories appear to annoy
you .. as a Christmas present I'll skip my annual nod to limestone
blocks and ambient gases trapped inside :_)
Don't take my comment too far out of its intended application, which
was specific. I really don't have a strong judgment of your general
theories, particularly when you are attempting to explain observed
phenomena with some level of serious credibility behind them.
This incident could indeed be an attempt to feed your theories back
to you, through a pretend confirmation. It's a possible explanation.
It would be an extraordinary coincidence that such a major
confirmation -- doing something that you haven't done -- would be
accomplished by some wing nut.
Yes, one has to have some, shall we say, ego strength, to buck the
alleged scientific consensus, so we expect people on the fringe to be
a bit unraveled, so to speak. However, that only goes so far. Serious
researchers on the fringe are only particularly fringe as to what
they investigate, not as to the techniques used.
Mmmm.... maybe we are missing out on something here! Has anyone used
a ouija board with a cold fusion replication? Why not?
