For penance you might help me find a patent by R.J. White (prior to 1974) at the Chevron Research Labs (Richmond, California ?)
Isn't there an engineering university library near you? As I'm sure you know, the uspto database search fields are limited for patents issued before 1976.
How about we do one to the tune of "Green Acres" for penance?
Or say a few "Hail Dumesics"?
