Nope, Tuttle, I don't think it is.

The beauty of Moller's Atomic Hydrogen
Generator (MAHG) is that it is nice and
simple. This makes it a lot easier
to understand what is going on.

In the first place there is no simpler
atom than hydrogen. Hydrogen stands at
the boundary between nuclei and sub-
nuclei species. This immediately
suggests that one has to switch one's
thinking down a hierarchy. One has to
take the lift from the ground floor to
the basement.

So, in terms of ground floor level with
which we are all familiar, what do we
have here?

We have, what is called at the ground
floor level, a heat pump.

A ground floor heat pump abstracts heat
energy from the outside Alpha-atmosphere
(A-a) and delivers it to the inside
atmosphere. Now the remote source of the
energy in the A-a is in fact the Beta-
atmosphere (B-a); the A-a only mediates
the energy.

To show what I mean by "the A-a only
mediates the energy" consider the
workings of a very familiar device
which is easy to understand and therefore
most suitable for pedagogic use.

That device is the Crookes' Radiometer (CR).
The immediate source of the energy driving
the four vaned mill is the action of the
Alpha-atmosphere molecules, i.e. the
mixture of nitrogen, oxygen, etc.

>From a restricted viewpoint the CR is a
perpetual motion machine. If it had been
introduced to the scientific
establishment, not as a radiometer which
rather gives the game away but as a low
pressure windmill, a device for
producing ordered motion out of
disordered molecular motion, then one
can imagine that some former-day Dr.Pork
might have said,

"Ha, ha! That will stop as soon as the
kinetic energy of the molecules has been
used up." not realising that the
molecular energy was constantly being
replenished by radiant energy.

Now if one built the CR in the way it was
originally intended, i.e. with a perfect
vacuum, then providing the engineering was
sufficiently top notch, it would transduce
energy directly from the radiant field
without the necessity for the mediation
of a low pressure gas atmosphere. However
the energy output at the mill axle would
be far less than with the molecular
mediator - and, of course, the mill would
rotate in the opposite direction with the
mirrored surface and the trailing rather
then the leading face of the vanes.

To return to MAHG viewed as a heat pump.

In effect we have two states of hydrogen,
atomic and molecular. These two basement
states are analogous to gaseous and
liquid ground floor states.

But where is the vacuum pump which allows
the "liquid H2" droplets to be "vapourised"?

Temperature is the pump. 8-)

But Temperature doesn't look like a
pump. :^(

That is because people look at it
upside down. ;-)

If we invert the concept of Temperature
and look at is as Compreture (C = 1/T)
then we can see that increasing
Compreture compresses a gas. Decreasing
Compreture allows the gas to expand and
liquids to evapourate.

If we reduce Compreture sufficiently
then the H2 "liquid" droplets will
"evapourate" to H "gas" particles and
in so doing absorb "heat" from the Beta-
atmosphere in the basement. Condensing
this "gas" delivers this heat to the Alpha
-atmosphere on the ground floor.

Now a MAHG basement "heat" pump has
several obvious advantages over a
conventional heat pump even if it were
only used as a heat pump. Since the
majority of electricity [in my house at
any rate ;-) ] is used for space heating,
such a device would free up a lot of oil
for other purposes.

Of course, if one can close the loop as
use it for electricity generation then
we enter a new land flowing with milk
and honey.

Cheers,

Frank Grimer
