Jones , Speaking of geometry and the torus, there is some more input in the aformentioned website  regarding torus and " cones"on pages prior to the ball lightning shot by Dmitriev.   Seems the study of cones shaped winding led to  positioning cones point to point and reverse. Wierd stuff supposedly not to play around with.   Richard
