I have no clue what this article is about in the context of LENR – but since I stumbled on this unusual factoid about lithium today, I will pass it along - because it relates to the Fermi surface of lithium. You may win a bar-bet with this trivia - if you can remember it. Factoid: The highest superconducting temperature Tc observed in any pure elemental metal in the entire periodic table is… ta da… you guessed it: lithium. BUT … only if pressurization is allowed. Unpressurized, lithium is hardly superconductive at all. Li has Tc in the range of∼20 K, at extreme pressure. The next closest metal is niobium at 9.26 K although doped diamond and carbon nanotubes are in the range of 10-12 K. This SC in lithium is somewhat striking insofar as historically, there has seemed to be a kind of loose relationship between LENR and superconductivity– due to Pd-Hydride being superconductive. Pd alone is not. That is nothing more than a hint of something unknown. FWIW - With lithium – the superconductivity is shown to arise from strong electron-phonon coupling under pressure, concentrated along the Fermi surface (in reciprocal space). This is not dissimilar from 2D reactions, which have been hypothesized to occur in lithium-based LENR.
