Hi,
I hijack this subject to talk about nuclear isomers and Hydroton (Ed
Storms) theor.

Abd in another thread interpreted the hydroton mechanism for producing
energy before the fusion, as the transition toward lower energy nuclear
isomer (he find it improbable).

My intuition from the mass of experiments, is that LENR is the opposite of
hot fusion, in that there is a strong preference for low activity outcome.

Hot fusion, and many LENr theories assume the the coulomb barier, the weak
barrier, is overcome by high energy.
The result is that the outcome accumulate the energy of a fusion plus the
energy of the barier, leading to high energy gammas, high momentum
particles ejections, excited nuclei which desexcitate violently.

Some other theories imagine tunnelling to avoid the coulomb/weak barier,
but anyway the fusion alon lead to a similar unobserved results, high
energy outcome.

This is why I find interesting the idea of Ed Storms that the collectivity
of nuclei emit energy slowly, like a leak, before an effective fusion which
bring the collectivity to a normal energy state, of low excitation.

For me it is only possible if the collectivity of nuclei cool down like
water in deep cold space, or like in a fridge.

First requirement is that the collectivity of nuclei are interacting in a
new way, of this state will be the normal bottom state of individual
nuclei. Maybe this requires mosbauer variants (like cook) or magnetism, or
LAH/DiscreteBreather... who knows.

the second requirement is something to pump energy out of the "water".
One possibility is that strange quantum effects prevent x-rays to enter the
hydroton, and let it leak (dunno if it is possible).
Another is that there is a heat pump at quantum scale, why not discrete
breather or things like that, why not exploiting unknown interactions like
mosbauer variants...

the first question, is if it is possible to have a coherent collectivity of
nuclei which, like ice, have a lower energy than usual incoherent
collectivity of nuclei.

the second is if there is a possible "heat pump" that can do the job, like
DB/LAH, or simply dark sky cooling (focusing energy interface toward a cold
space/bandwidth , preventing local heat/radiation to interfere)

PS: I don't want fringe answers (too easy to invent a new idea), but
something based on material science and QM. That is the rule of my game ;-)
