Hi Robin,
The Wiki site has some information
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Femtosecond_pulse_shaping
Pulse shaping and chirping seem like two ways to increase the
effectiveness of a laser for certain uses, but apparently Holmlid does
neither and gets good results.
The cost for chirping or pulse shaping jumps through the roof but may be
unnecessary. I think it is important to replicate Holmlid and work out a
protocol for doing it at lowest cost.

Hi,

I am looking at this from the perspective of broadening the Holmlid
effect. If anyone finds the entire paper to download or understands
pulse shaping - please post the citation.
Pulse shaping (compression) may also be used in laser driven particle
accelerators, so I wouldn't be surprised if this gave rise to some fusion
events.
