You must be kidding. We are spending millions on carbon industry subsidies. That is like carrying dead weight instead of fuel. In addition, our trade deficit is like a giant economic hemorrhage. I think the trick may be to get the carbon industry itself motivated to make the switch. That's where the big windfall bucks are right now. The question is whether the industry has leaders with enough foresight to invest the windfall heavily in renewables.
