Ok, I admit it. This is Forth'o'July essay: I suspect there may be a few closet Vorts (like me) who occasionally monitor of the activities of Mike Brady, an individual who claims to have designed and developed a magnetic motor prototype that is ready for prime time viewing. For those who might be curious you can find a list of reviews pertaining to the saga of Brady's claims out at Pure Energy Systems News. See:
http://freeenergynews.com/Directory/Perendev/MagneticMotor/index.html or http://tinyurl.com/gxuj8 ...and also at the "Latest News" section. See: http://peswiki.com/index.php/Directory:Perendev_Power_Developments_Pty_(Ltd) or http://tinyurl.com/px8rd What prompted me to add my two cents here on the day we North Americans of the United States celebrate the Forth'o'July was recent news that Brady cancelled a public event scheduled for the 7th of July. Brady was going to perform a public demonstration of what I presume would be his latest incarnation of a fuel-less magnetic motor. See Perendev (http://perendev-power.com/) Web site's "Special Event" link, http://perendev-power.com/Page45.html ...where you will read that - quote: "Due to the poor response we will have to cancel the event on the 7th of July 2006, we require at least 280 persons to attend, at this time we have only 86 confirmed bookings. We apologize for any inconvenience." Private viewing can be arranged for persons wishing to see the motor and generator in operation." - Unquote Apparently, Mr. Brady required 280 individuals so sign up in order to go ahead with his public demonstration. Unfortunately, only 86 did. Apparently, 86 willing individuals just wasn't enough for Brady to go through with a world shattering demonstration of a device that allegedly would have far reaching consequences if it could be both verified and legitimatized in the eyes of the public. Meanwhile, individuals who wish to book a private viewing of Brady's device are invited to sign up - FOR INDIVIDUAL APPOINTMENTS. Just contact him at his web site. Ok. Let me see if I got this straight. Mr. Brady is more than happy to continue to spend an enormous amount of his limited personal energy in arranging "private" demonstrations. But 89 confirmed bookings wasn't enough for Brady to go ahead with a planned "public" showing which he had been advertising at his web site for months? There remains an irrational and perhaps foolish part of me that continues to hope beyond any normal sense of reality that Mr. Brady has constructed a genuine fuel-less magnetic motor, a device that allegedly is ready to be revealed to the public. It is times like this where I sometimes wish I possessed a more provincial perspective on these controversial OU matters, a view that is perhaps more in line with the distinguished Dr. Zimmerman, an individual who creates a noticeably large skeptical foot print over at the Hydrino Discussion group. If I possessed Dr. Zimmerman's slant on these matters I suspect it would make it so much easier for me to dismiss all those weird OU claims, such as those coming from Mr. Brady's web site, as nothing more than the ramblings of self-deluded "inventor", or worse, another snake-oil salesman hard at work in his attempts to fleece a gullible public of their hard earned dollars. But alas, the perspective I'm left to personally endure is one tha! t is just as unpleasant, where I'm forced to conclude that there are few who can surpass Brady's ability to stymie the alleged legitimacy of his own claimed achievements through his own obfuscations, backtracking, incessant deflections and excuses. It is no wonder few who may continue, beyond their better judgment, to remain sympathetic can afford to take his claims seriously anymore, this despite the fact that many supporters and backers, I gather, have bent over backwards to give him the benefit of the doubt. If OU devices similar to the kind that Brady claims to have created eventually DO manage to make it out of the starting line and into the frenzied global market, I suspect history is likely to record the unflattering fact this underappreciated struggle had been achieved IN SPITE of Brady's best efforts. And, oh yes, one last nit-picky thing I feel compelled to comment on. At Brady's home page (http://perendev-power.com/) you will see a link to "The Art of Rob & Jane Kearney". As the link states it takes you to works of art. It is my assumption that the two advertised artists, Rob & Jane Kearney, are somehow related to Mr. Brady either by blood or by law. IMHO, the art displayed (which includes motorcycles, Native Americans, wildlife, and a number of female nudes), is pretty decent and well crafted. Never the less, I have to ask myself: What in the world is a link displaying art work doing on the front page of web site that is trying to convince an already jaded audience of the legitimacy of free-energy devices? Is it possibly a link to a fundraiser campaign for the Bardy's Perendev web site? Not that I can see. The link looks more like it was appended to the Perendev home page as any family (or in-law) member might do as a supportive gesture, a favor to help expose the tale! nts of family members. Now don't get me wrong. There's nothing wrong with that. I'm an artist myself, and I DO advertise my artwork at my own web site at www.OrionWorks as well as at a commercial on-line establishment called www.zazzle.com/orionworks. OTOH, if I had in my possession innovative designs of controversial free energy devices, I would not attempt to distract an already skeptical audience with titillating artwork of tastefully executed nudes where some of the "intimate" subject material borders on tentative explorations of lesbianism - and AGAIN don't get me wrong, not that I have anything against that all-too-human form of expression either! There's a time and place for everything. That translates to setting up a separate web site for the aesthetic pursuits of the nude figure, and all the trimmings that go along with that avenue of human expression. But getting back to the subject of "free energy": Fortunately there remain, hopefully, a handful fledgling enterprises pursuing R&D in magnetism with the ultimate goal of extracting "free" energy for the masses. I would imagine that these enterprises are doing their best to harness on a macro scale hints of suspected asymmetries detected in magnetic forces. Mark Goldes', Chairman & CEO of Magnetic Power Inc., obviously comes to mind. I suspect such R&D endeavors are not easy under current economic conditions and political climates. It's frustrating for me for all I feel I can do is wish organizations like MPI continued safe passages through the treacherous oceans where creatures like the POTSI (Priesthood Of The Scientific Inquisition) lie hungrily in wait for easy prey to pick off, and where illusive SAI (Skittish Angel Investors) nervously dart in and out of our vanishing coral reefs. In the meantime, bitta bang! Batta Boom! I'm outta here! Time to experience the open doors. Time to gorge myself on burnt brats, corn chips, and ice-cooled beers at our neighbor's barbeque bash. And to the rest of you eccentric Vorts, a happy Forth'o'July no matter what flag you have sworn your allegiance to. Regards, Steven Vincent Johnson www.OrionWorks.com www.zazzle.com/orionworks
