There are three aspects to the struggle in Iraq. The first is
about who controls the country's oil wealth (the oil is in the
south and the north, so the Sunnis (in the middle) are afraid of
being shut out), and the second is about getting Iraq to weaken
itself through internal strife (this gets *no* media attention),
and the third is about getting rid of the US.

The first and the last would be moot with the advent of free
energy (since the US would leave then anyway).
