But according to Dufour and others who have looked at Uranium as the active electrode in side-by-side comparison, there is a 400-500% increase in heat output with U, compared with Pd.
Of course, there are other problems with increased radioactivity, perhaps, and experimenters in the USA are reluctant to experiment with U, but there seems to be no contradictory evidence that it is not superior. Perhaps far superior.
If there are going to be transmutation products in either case, after long-term use, then we are ultimately only talking about a "matter of degree", not of substance.
