Mmmm... it seems to me that even without the help of a fifth force you would 
expect the electrons to 
carry whatever they are attached to up, by simple coulombic force Fc=q*E  (E = 
-grad V goes from 
positive to negative i.e. down, and q is negative, so Fc goes up)
