I thought 'Yusmar' was what Yuri Potapov called his heater. It works

Well, that is a difference in operation which probably makes
Potapov/Yusmar non-infringing, but the images on the Alkoil site looked
similar to the Hydrosonic pump.
One cannot patent a process like "cavitation", only the device which
creates it, so there are probably many ways to get around any patent.
Many have suggested/suspected that a trade secret could be involved, IF
there is really some verifiable heating anomaly.
This type of simple heating device seems to come up in a Vo posting
every winter... soon after the first big heating bill of the season
arrives ;-)
BTW - Here is the (null) EarthTech test on the Yusmar using water:

Makes one doubt the similar claims of OU from Alkoil unless, as we have
discussed on Vo before, there is an additional water additive, such as
potash, which has been added to create the Mills' hydrino reaction or a
LENR effect.
Hey - maybe next year there will be positive result to report, instead
of a yawn!
... Or even sooner -- as at the 13th International Conference on Cold
Fusion (ICCF-13) which was held at Sochi Russia, June 2007, Dr. Igor
Goryachev of the Kurchatov Institute announced a 100 KW "alchemical"
reactor. He stated then it would be ready for demonstration at ICCF-14
(August 2008)! Insiders believe that the Kurchatov reactor is based on a
cavitation heater concept using an electrolyte, perhaps with an added DC
input.
They couldn't let the reactor out sooner for testing -- as they are
heating the Lab with it this winter ;-)
It may be recalled that Kurchatov Institute is where the Soviet hydrogen
bomb and the TOKAMAK reactor were invented.
