Below is a message I sent to Pierre Carbonnelle and some of the others who worked on the Wikipedia article, which was destroyed in mid-December 2007. The plan is to migrate the article to the new Google encyclopedia "Knol." Some members of this group want to create new article in a semi-secret fashion, organizing together and then springing it upon the world. They are afraid that skeptics will interfere with their access to Knol.

I told them that I never do anything in the dark. Anything I write is fully open to critique by anyone, including Robert Park. If he wants to write a paper for LENR-CANR I would be pleased to upload it. If I write a draft of an encyclopedia article, as soon as I think it is free of errors, I will upload it here and hand out copies to anyone who asks.

Anyway, I told these people that if they want to work in secret, please don't tell me about it. It is possible that this secret group has access to Knol and they are working on a article even as we speak. If they do that, the rest of us can critique the article once it comes on line, which would be fine.

I have not been able to make any contact with Google yet. As far as I know, the Google "Knol" encyclopedia has not been launched yet, either, so perhaps it is too early to expect a response.

It should not take us long to assemble an article if Google gives us access. I expect we all agree on what the main points it should include. We can iron out the details in a week or two after the core article is written. So I think we should wait until they respond.

The latest version of the Wikipedia article does not have a single reference to LENR-CANR.org or to Steve's site. That's annoying! There is nothing I can do about it. The article is locked. Even if I could add links, the skeptics will only erase them. The lunatics are running the asylum. It is hopeless.

If there was someone else in the ad-hoc group that discussed Wikipedia in mid-December, please feel free to forward this message, and ask them to contact me. If and when we get access to Knol I want to be sure all interested parties are informed, and given a chance to critique the article.
