Well, now you've put me on the spot! 8^) As you might well know in
this case, my sources, however limited they might be, must remain
confidential. 8^)
Hey Horace,
You're funny. I like that. I've been in direct contact with about 5 other
Russians as well as Nagel, Melich and Smith.
With the most interesting information I've received from the Russians - the
confidentiality of the sources is no joke. I will say that they have
expressed to me in writing their fear of Melich. I do not know what they
fear, or if it is grounded in reality.
I'm waiting to hear back from Melich for a request for comment. I've
already heard back from an official (I will name later) in the Moscow
consulate. The stories so far don't match.
I'm probably way out of date. You were actually at ICCF14 so should
have the latest. Last I heard (early Sept.) only one Russian
(Karabut) got a visa, but many other Russians were denied or maybe
just seriously delayed.
Hopefully you read the section Russian Visa Problems in NET30

and you are at least up to speed on what I have already reported.
seen names named as to those who could not attend. If you have talked
to Dave Nagel, Mike Melich or Bob Smith about it (I haven't) you
probably have the straight scoop.
That's what I do, scoop. Sometimes it's like kitty litter. ;)
