Mills achieves it by proposing that trapped photons have the same effect as the creation of extra charge on the nucleus "virtual" charge if you will. I do it by assuming that the De Broglie wave of the electron can take on a more complex form than a simple circle (e.g. a Lissajous structure) - see my web page ( http://users.bigpond.net.au/rvanspaa/New-hydrogen.html ).
