It doesn't work very well. You have to clear out the RAM garbage at least once a day, in my experience. For the same reason, the nonvolatile memory such as the Memristor will not help PC start-up speeds much. Solid state disks do not help much either, surprisingly, from the benchmarks I have seen. Nonvolatile memory will help with other devices that do not have to be reset and reloaded as frequently. Nonvolatile core memory was used in central telephone exchanges until the late 1970s because it did not have to be reloaded after power failures. - Jed
