But how long will it take for these expensive high tech batteries to come down to a more reasonable 2k - 3k price tag? I gather most of these batteries do not incorporate expensive elements or other resources, so it would seem to be primarily an issue acquiring economical technology combined with economies of scale. Obviously what is probably needed the most is a 2k - 3k price tag for batteries that have the capacity to power a small car 200 - 300 miles between charges. But 40 miles between charges is good enuf for a significant amount of day-to-day commuter driving. Probably enuf to issue in a paradigm change.
