Ah. With a Prius there is usually some regeneration when you go downhill, even if you do not press the brake lever. That, is unless you are going flat out at full acceleration, at the limits of engine power. Even there, the controls will not allow it to go above 110 mph. It is a fly-by-wire system in which speed is regulated by the overall system of ICE plus electric motor. The disk brakes do not engage but the computer shows the battery pack is being recharged.
