Likely not.  I have been involved in these speculative startups.
Investors are screened carefully.  Only those who can afford to lose
the money are allowed to invest.  Disclaimers are everywhere in the
paperwork saying that this is a highly speculative investment with no
guarantee that anything will ever come of it; but, if it does, the
potential gains are huge.

Indeed it usually starts with one investor who is a believer who "lets
his friends in" on the deal.  These millionaires all stick together
kinda like Shoulders' EVO.  But, that is another thread.
