How do you know unless you have tried?
I've tried.
I think he would welcome it. In fact I think
he wants his critics to post on his blog.
The only way he has been able to get their
opinions is by quoting stuff that has been
posted about him on vortex or in private email.
He edits the comments that he accepts, removing critical information.
It would be easy to take a long comment, dump some of it to a
separate page, then edit the comment down, being careful not to
change the sense, and link to the full comment. If it is actually
true that a comment is too long.
But when comments are just edited down to show only a small part, or
are rejected without comment, I can tell you that I don't go back
unless invited. I much prefer to submit comments by email than to
write them in an edit box on a web page, it is far more convenient
and safer for me, I have a copy, then. Sure I could copy the text
myself before posting it, but it doesn't happen, way too often.
It's not like he's overwhelmed with comments!
