A couple of people recommended the message. Thanks. This is important because the messages can be sorted in various ways by selecting the tabs at the top of the list, and with the "Reader's Recommendation" sort, a message with no recommendations is not visible.

Many of the comments are savvy. I guess people reading the New York Times know more about energy most newspaper readers. It also helps that all messages are reviewed by someone at the Times before they are uploaded. I would not want that job!

The Washington Post is about to implement a new system for their online comments, with more monitoring. Anonymous comments will still be allowed but a reader can filter them all out. I do not understand how they can tell whether a person is using his or her real name or not.
