These doctors are taking this way more seriously than I would. Some time has passed since the story broke. You would think they would have an answer by now, because people cannot survive long without food or water.
Fox News says they watched him for 2 weeks and he did not eat. Then he went home:

Two weeks is at the extreme of how long a person can survive without water. It is a shame they did not go for a month. This reminds me a little of some cold fusion experiments that are shut down after producing heat for a day, instead of letting them go for much longer, which would produce more convincing results far beyond chemistry.
