Not sure what "10 kWhr ongoing energy" would mean, other than 10 kW. The gadget looks big enough to produce 10 kW without burning or melting. I have no idea what's what, but I have heard rumors that they have been producing that much heat for some time. I hope they are talking about a demo which is considerably more than 10 > watts of excess that they ran for 1000 hours to make this claim . . . > Is that that what they did? No one would call that 10 kW. > , or there will be some backlash from those who are expecting more. > Actually, the beauty of this is that no one seems to be expecting anything. The bar is low. The claim is so astounding that people in the know (us) have no expectation of success, and the mass media outside of Italy is paying no attention at all. I am happy with that. If it is real, I expect it will take weeks or months for the news to permeate through society, and I hope that gives us the time to prepare more impressive materials describing the work. The situation reminds me a little of the Wright brother's flight in France, in 1908. They made astounding claims. They had credibility and some people in the know took them seriously. Many European aviation experts assembled to watch the demo, but even as they did that, they assumed the claims were overblown. They assumed the flights would be about that same as the European test flights of that year, in which people barely got off the ground in uncontrolled flights. They did not believe the claims that the Wrights flown for 40 minutes in controlled flight in circles. When Wilbur took off and flew for a minute or two with perfect control, the experts were dazzled. It was FAR better than anything they imagined. A few days later he flew a figure-eight, a feat utterly beyond their capabilities. If Focardi and Rossi really do demonstrate irrefutable proof of a ~10 kW heater every cold fusion researcher will know within a few days, and they will all be dazzled. If the heat is real, it should not difficult to make a convincing demonstration of it. Rudimentary calorimetry should suffice. The input energy is reportedly low to zero. - Jed
