Actually, in the Sci. Am. this was M. Shermer, not Park. Two letters in the Feb. 2011 issue. The second one, from B. L. Viglianti, Dep. Radiology, U. Mich. at Ann Arbor, authored a study on the "carcinogenic effect of elevated tissue temperature with and without coexisting DNA damage from other causes."
