I think its quite obvious and simple... If enough water accumulates in the hose, and liquid water has significant mass, then it will act like a plug causing steam pressure to build up behind it until it blows out some of the water. I would not want to be anywhere near the end of the hose when that happens. Would you? Granted, with this e-kitten's very modest output of 2.5kW, it would probably take hours for enough water to accumulate with the ~6 feet of hose that was lying level on the floor. -Mark
