True, but as a matter of fact there is currently only one manned space station, i.e. the ISS (international Space Station), which does not hang around in a single place around earth and certainly not above the North or South pole; it actually rotates between approx. 50 N and S in 1.5 hours around the earth. I'm not sure if it is even physically feasible to let it hang without any movement above one of the poles.
