At any corporation, the public relations department will strive to avoid any association with fraud, criminality or controversy. They will not allow a press release which might harm the company image.

To put it bluntly, if Trisha McDonell, Corporate PR Manager, allowed this press release and Rossi turns out to be a crook, she may lose her job. If she did not do a Google search for Rossi, she deserves to lose her job. (She would not be blamed if someone at a higher level authorized the press release.)

No, no, wrong, wrong!

NI has not made any press release. They have answered questions via mail.
When they have seen that PESWiki did not abuse the NI logo, but instead presented a photo of the headquarter it was clear they cannot do anything against this. Displaying photos of buildings is not illegal, even if there is a logo in the image. So she confirmed to Sterling Allan, that his publication does not conflict with NI's rights.
Sterling Allan is skilled and knows like Rossi exactly how to do it.
Sterling Allan published the mails (without permission?) and invoked a wrong impression.

NI's products are used in any lab or industry, it is to assume that also Piantellis company is a customer and many other LENR companies and labs. Of course these customers are as welcome as others. NI does not surpress LENR research, they are happy to sell to Piantelli and Krivit and Defkalion also and will even make a contract with them to develop FPGA's and so on, if they order and pay.

So they try to keep all their customers happy, this is what a PR manager has to do.

I think Trisha McDonell did this absolutely well.
