That none of this appears to be true is indeed evidence-- evidence that Defkalion was lying. If they lie about that, they are probably lying about much more. And it is not an issue of simple technical issues causing delays. If it were, they would have issued an explanation and a new time line. There is nothing pathological about that line of thought nor do I think it to be "useless bickering".
